Silent Hill: Townfall

Rating:5 (1 votes)

Silent Hill: Townfall puts Simon on St. Amelia, a strange island covered in fog. The streets are mostly empty, buildings feel abandoned, and you never quite know what is waiting around the next corner. There is a lot of walking and looking around, but that does not mean the game is slow. You can go from checking an empty room to dealing with an enemy pretty quickly.

Sometimes the Best Move Is to Keep Quiet In Silent Hill: Townfall

You do not have to fight everything you meet. Simon has weapons, but ammunition is not something you should throw away for no reason. If an enemy is nearby, hiding or slipping past can be much safer. You can also peek from cover or throw a bottle somewhere else to draw attention away from you.

  • Look around before entering new rooms.
  • Pick up items that may help later.
  • Save bullets for fights you cannot avoid.
  • Hide when an enemy is too close.
  • Throw bottles to create a distraction.

A Television Can Tell You More Than a Door

The CRTV is one of the stranger things you will come across. When it picks up an unusual signal, it is worth stopping to check it instead of simply walking past. Some of the information you find while exploring can also help with puzzles, so remember where you found it.

The Silent Hill: Townfall game does not hand you every answer. You have to connect a few things yourself, especially when a puzzle involves objects found in different parts of the area.

One Playthrough Does Not Show Everything

In Silent Hill: Townfall, there are five endings to discover, and the choices you make during the game can affect where Simon's story goes. So finishing the game once does not necessarily mean you have seen everything.

A second run can also feel different because you already know some of the places and situations. You may notice details you ignored before or make a different choice just to see what happens.

The Fog Makes an Ordinary Street Feel Wrong

There is something uncomfortable about walking through St. Amelia when almost nothing is happening. You hear a noise, stop for a moment, and see nothing. Then you keep walking.

That is where Silent Hill: Townfall gets much of its tension. The game doesn't need monsters lurking everywhere. Sometimes an empty street and a bad feeling are enough.
