Unheard is a psychological horror puzzle game where you investigate crimes by listening instead of seeing. There’s no combat or action, just overlapping voices, footsteps, and conversations that you must piece together to uncover the truth. You don’t watch events unfold, you hear them. Every detail matters, and not everything you hear can be trusted. It’s slow, tense, and demands careful thinking rather than quick reactions.

Jumping between characters too early will leave you confused. Pick one voice and stay with it long enough to understand their behavior. For example, if a character casually mentions meeting someone in another room, follow through on that lead. Later, when you switch perspectives, that small detail might explain a completely different interaction you overheard earlier.
In Unheard game, tone matters just as much as content. A character might say something simple like “I was there earlier,” but hesitation, stress, or defensiveness can suggest they’re hiding something. In one case, a calm voice suddenly becomes tense when questioned, which is a clear sign that something doesn’t add up, even if the words sound harmless.
Your first pass through a scene will never give you the full picture. That’s intentional. Once you learn names or relationships, go back and listen again. Conversations that sounded random suddenly make sense. For instance, a background argument you ignored earlier might turn out to involve the key suspect once you know who’s speaking.
